sttID, scemtec Transponder Technology, is expanding its range of HF readers with the compact RFID industrial reader SIR-2550, which is prepared for top-hat rail mounting.

UHF Long-Range Reader SIL-9400 Series SmartRead Application Software

The application software running on the SIL-9400, from version 2.0 onwards, includes a chargeable 'white/black list' option. This function allows a list of transponders to be loaded into the reader.

The 'white list' function is a list of valid transponders. When such a transponder is read, it's ID can not only be output via e.g. a network, but also one or more outputs can be set, e.g. to open a barrier.

The 'black list' function blocks all transponders in the list and therefore their IDs are not transmitted. This can be used to hide transponders that are always in the field.
